Embark on a great adventure and explore Scotland's picturesque coastline. Learn the basic techniques of powerboating, from launching and high speed manoeuvres to safety proceedures and navigations. With a qualified instructor on hand to help throughout the day, this is perfect for anyone looking to pursue the exciting sport of powerboating.

Agenda

Once you have arrived and been welcomed to the centre your experience will begin with a full safety briefing and introduction to powerboating. The qualified instructor will run you through the basic techniques of handling as you are kitted out in the necessary safety equipment. Now to jump aboard and put the theory to practice! Discover the basic skills and procedures with a full practical lesson, including launching, recovery, preparing the boat and crew before you sail, high speed manoeuvres, picking up buoys, mooring alongside other boats safely and the all important skill of navigation. Throughout the experience you will stop at a number of locations to give you time to take in the stunning views. In small groups, this course is fantastic for learning the in-depth techniques of powerboating and as you arrive back at the centre you will receive an RYA Powerboat Book and Pass Certificate to remember your day with.

Your experience includes a light lunch and refreshments throughout the day.

Restrictions
Minimum Age: 14
Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult
Participants must have a reasonable level of fitness and must be confident in the water 

Duration
Please allow around 8 hours to complete your course.

What to Wear / Equipment
Please dress appropriately for the weather conditions on the day; it is advisable that you bring sun cream, sunglasses, a hat and gloves depending on the weather.

Group Size / Spectators
There will be a maximum of 3 course students to each instructor. The course is not suitable for spectators.

Weather
This experience will go ahead in most weather conditions, please check with the centre before leaving.

Availability
This course is available throughout the year on weekends and on selected weekdays.
