2 Day RYA Powerboat Course

Discover the thrill of powerboating and explore the beautiful Scotish coastline. With expert tuition throughout your two day course learn the basics, from navigational techniques to high speed manoeuvres. This is a great experience for those looking to pursue the sport of powerboating.

Agenda

Once you have arrived and been welcomed to the centre your Two Day Course will begin with a full safety briefing as you are kitted out in the necessary safety gear. Throughout the course you will take part in a number of practical lessons to ensure you learn the basic skills to handling and controlling the powerboats, including launching, recovery, preparing the boat and crew before you sail, high and low speed manoeuvres, picking up buoys, mooring alongside other boats safely and the all important skill of navigation. Complimenting the intense pratical tuition, you will also make a number of stops along the coast to learn the theory about International Regulations, whilst having the chance to take in the stunning scencery. You will leave feeling confident in your new found skills, and with a International Certificate of Competence (ICC) and RYA PowerBoat Course Book remember the important techniques for next time!

Your experience includes light lunches and refreshments throughout the two day course.

Restrictions
Minimum Age: 14
Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult
Participants must have a reasonable level of fitness and must be confident in the water 

Duration
Please allow around 16 hours to complete your course. Each days will run from approximately 9am till 5pm.

What to Wear / Equipment
Please dress appropriately for the weather conditions on the day; it is advisable that you bring sun cream, sunglasses, a hat and gloves.

Group Size / Spectators
There will be a maximum of 3 course students to each instructor. The course is not suitable for spectators.

Weather
This experience will go ahead in most weather conditions, please check with the centre before leaving.

Availability
This course is available throughout the year on weekends and on selected weekdays.
