BCU 3 Star Sea Kayaking

The successful sea-kayaking courses are gaining in popularity largely due to the relaxing calmness of the sport when compared to its brother, white water kayaking. This style is far more gentler and allows the paddler to explore far more as the adrenalin is not quite pumping at full capacity! The Jurassic Dorset Coast is becoming a hot spot for enthusiasts amongst a few others.

Agenda

Day One will get underway by practicing safety techniques before setting off on a safe but challenging journey through some sticky situations. Day two will focus more on the in-depth coaching and the essential skills required to become a decent kayaker. The water activity and conditions will of course dictate the actual structure of the days.

Theory & Safety Considerations
Equipment
Basic paddling – forwards & backwards
Turning
Capsizing and self rescue


Kayaking Experiences  >  Water

Restrictions
Minimum Age: 12
(Under 18's must have parental consent.)
All Participants must be confident in the water.

Duration
The course will last for two days.

What to Wear / Equipment
The centre will provide you with the kayak and wetsuit and buoyancy aid etc. You will need to bring a swimming costume and towel. Also, if it's hot take some sun block and if it's not take some warm clothes to change into afterwards.

Group Size / Spectators
There will be a maximum of 6 participants per instructor.
