If you have ever fancied running the rapids on a river, then this is the course for you. You will learn a lot, do a lot of kayaking and if you are not superhuman your muscles will be aching by the end of the day!

Agenda

Once you have arrived and been welcomed to the centre your day will begin with a safety brief and you'll get kitted out with the necessary gear for your exciting activity! You will start with a flat-water session to practise basic paddling skills before going on to the adrenaline-pumping white water for the rest of the day! The course usually covers sweep strokes, edging, low brace supports, low brace turns, hip flicking, high brace supports, river hazards, breaking in/out, ferry gliding, swimming in white water, route choice and equipment choice.
Please Note: This course is always tailored to the participants and you may not cover everything on this list).

You will be required to use your own transport to get to and from the activity sites. If you will not have transport available you must let the centre know AT THE TIME OF BOOKING A DATE.

Restrictions
Minimum Age: 14
Maximum Weight: 16 stone / Chest Size 48 (roughly)

All Participants must be confident in open water and be able to swim 25m with flotation device.
Under 18's need to be accompanied by an adult.
White Water Rafting is not suitable if you are pregnant.

You will be required to use your own transport to get to and from the activity sites. If you will not have transport available you must let the centre know AT THE TIME OF BOOKING A DATE.

Duration
This is a full day experience, covering the morning and afternoon.

What to Wear / Equipment
All specialist equipment such as wetsuit, buoyancy aid and helmet will be provided by the centre. You should take your swim suit, a towel, and a spare pair of trainers.

Group Size / Spectators
The course takes place at different locations depending on the water conditions on the day. Because of this it cannot guaranteed that spectators will be able to watch - you will need to check with your instructors on the day.

Weather
White Water Experiences operate in most conditions but may be affected by extreme weather conditions or flooding if the rivers are too swollen. Please check with the centre on the day or the day before your experience.

The Discover White Water Kayaking is available all year round, on weekdays & weekends.
