The fantastic grounds of Goodwood play host to a range of two-wheel and four-wheeled motorsports, with many events each year held around the prestigious Goodwood House in Chichester. Famous for the annual 'Festival of Speed' Goodwood is renowned for motor enthusiasts and classic car lovers, as it draws a crowd from all over the country every year for such mainstream events.

The first track race took place in 1948, when motoring legend Sterling Moss won the 500cc class (later to become Formula 3) racing in Coopers. It was the same grounds that unfortunately ended Sterling's career 14 years later, as St. Mary's corner caused an accident that ended his career in 1962.

Goodwood became famous for its nine hour endurance races in the 1950s and 1960s, but saw its last race for 30 years in 1966 when the owners refused to modify the track with chicanes. However, racing returned in 1998 with the success of the 'Festival of Speed' and the track is now used for classic races, track days and other such events.
