60 Minute Microlight Trial Flight

The huge demand for aviation in the late 70’s brought us many new flying contraptions for just a fraction of the cost. One of the finest and longest running of these machines is the microlight, which took the world by storm for its affordable version of a super-power reserved only for films and comic books! This fantastic experience gives you the opportunity to sample true open air flight and a selection of unrivalled aerial views. The picturesque scenery afforded by the 2000ft average flying height is as breath-taking as the notion that you are cruising through the air at around 60mph! This type of travel has been the ultimate aim since the drawings of Leonardo da Vinci, and now it can be achieved by all in this unforgettable experience.

Agenda

Once you've arrived and been welcomed to the centre your day will begin with a thorough safety briefing, covering your flight instructions and regulations. Your co-pilot for the day will perform the necessary full pre-flight safety check on the aircraft and its then time to take to the runway. Once airborne you'll climb to around 2000 feet and travel around 50-60mph, from where you'll have a marvellous view of the surrounding countryside. Depending on the weather conditions, and whether you want to or not, you can have a go at flying the aircraft. Your instructor will be more than happy to show you how to perform basic flight maneuvers like turning, climbing and descending.
