Adult Half Day Canoe Experience - Leamington Spa

Conveniently located in the centre of the UK, this purpose built centre is perfect for picturesque scenery and decent water conditions. Sessions are tailored by the instructors to help complete beginners or those with some previous experience. On the session you will be learning some of the basic skills and principles through to some of the more difficult techniques, and even play some games to fine tune those new skills! Agenda

Once you have arrived and been welcomed to the centre your day will begin with a thorough safety briefing covering the techniques and safety aspects of canoeing. Once you have met your instructor it is time to get kitted out with your equipment and buoyancy aids - cag (canoeing waterproof top) boat and paddle (spraydecks are available for experienced paddlers). The Canoes are very stable and designed for tuition so you are unlikely to fall out unless you really try hard! A The session will take place on a calm stretch of the River Leam. You will learn how to control the boat so you can enjoy a river trip up though the Victorian Gardens & into the nature reserve. This experience will teach you the basics and get your appetite whet for the next time!

Restrictions
Minimum Age: 14
Reasonable fitness and competent in the water.
Life jackets are provided and must be worn.

Duration
Please allow 3 hours to complete your experience.

What to Wear / Equipment
Please wear basic sports clothing, which you don't mind getting damp or wet, wearing old trainers, sandals, or wet shoes. A towel and complete change of clothes and shoes are necessary.
If you wear glasses its a good idea to secure them with elastic.
All equipment is provided by the centre which is BCU approved training centre.

Group Size / Spectators
Spectators are very welcome, with a number refreshments available. 
For groups of over 4 people, dates upon request are available.

Weather
This experience can be effected by extreme weather conditions, if in doubt please contact the centre.
