This is your chance to try out one of the most popular and fastest growing water sports ever at the purpose built boating centre. Conveniently located in the centre of the UK, the centre is perfect for picturesque scenery and idela water conditions. Sessions are tailored either for complete beginners or those with some previous experience to ensure everyone an has enjoyable and constructive time on the water. During the session you can expect to learn and practice some of the basics of canoeing.While out on the river you will possible play a few water-based games to put your new skills to the test!

Once you have arrived and been welcomed to the centre your day will begin with a thorough safety briefing covering the techniques and safety aspects of canoeing. Once you have met your instructor it is time to get kitted out with your equipment and buoyancy aids - cag (canoeing waterproof top) boat and paddle (spraydecks are available for experienced paddlers). The Canoes are very stable and designed for tuition so you are unlikely to fall out unless you really try hard! A The session will take place on a calm stretch of the River Leam. You will learn how to control the boat so you can enjoy a river trip up though the Victorian Gardens & into the nature reserve. This experience will teach you the basics and get your appetite whet for the next time!

Restrictions
Age restrictions: minimum age of 14, you need to be reasonably fit and confident in the water, you do not need to be a good swimmer as you will wear buoyancy aids are worn at all times.

Duration
Please allow 3 hours to complete your experience.

What to Wear / Equipment
Please wear basic sports clothing, which you don't mind getting damp or wet, wearing old trainers, sandals, or wet shoes. A towel and complete change of clothes and shoes are necessary.
If you wear glasses its a good idea to secure them with elastic.
All equipment is provided by the centre which is BCU approved training centre.

Group Size / Spectators
Spectators are very welcome, with a number refreshments available. For groups of over 4 people, dates upon request are available.
