Aston Martin AMV8 v Audi R8

The Aston Martin DB9 and V8 Vantage are modern thoroughbred sports cars that encompass the British sports car makers illustrious history, with a fantastic engine to match the beautiful and recognisable styling. With a V12 engine producing around 500bhp, the DB9 is a powerful monster and oozes class. With expert tuition at your side, you are sure to maximise your driving experience and push the Aston Martin all the way. You then have the chance to compare the Aston Martin against the German’s very own Audi R8. The R8 has looked superb on our roads since its arrival in 2007, and now you have the chance to drive one! Based on the Lamborghini Gallardo, the R8 produces around 420bhp from a 4.2L engine, reaching speeds of around 190mph. Two superbly engineered supercars for your motorised judgement, in one fantastic track day!

Agenda

Once you have arrived and been welcomed to the centre your day will begin with a thorough safety briefing covering all aspects of the track, the Aston Martin and the Audi R8. Once you've had the briefing it is time for some driving development in the performance training car with your instructor for 3 laps. You will then start your day's supercar driving with 4 fantastic laps driving the Aston Martin. Once you have driven one of England's finest it's time to sample the great German, the Audi R8. You are to be let loose and begin your comparison with 4 laps in the awesome Audi R8. To finish the driving for the day you will be treated to a 2 lap hot hatch passenger ride with your instructor. Your day will come to a halt by receiving your individual driving certificate.

Restrictions
You must have a full UK or European driving license with no serious offences. You must be able to drive a manual transmission. Drivers shorter than 5'0" or taller than 6'6" and/or weighing more than 17 stone may have difficulty being accommodated.

Duration
Your experience will last around 1.5 hours.

What to Wear / Equipment
You should wear comfortable clothing with thin-soled shoes for driving. All safety equipment is provided by the centre.

Group Size / Spectators
Spectators are welcome, although there is a strict 'No Pets Allowed' rule.

Weather
This experience will only be affected by extreme weather conditions; if in doubt please check with the centre before setting off.

Availability
Courses start at a range of times on selected Saturdays and weekdays throughout the year. Extra driving laps & passenger rides can be purchased on the day. At Prestwold Hall you will receive a 2 lap hot hatch ride and 3 laps in the driving performance training car with an instructor.
