Aston Martin AMV8 v Nissan GTR

The Aston Martin DB9 and the V8 Vantage are modern thoroughbred sports cars that offer electrifying performance and outstanding agility. They are beautiful pieces of machinery and the V12 power unit has to be heard to be believed. Here is your chance to experience one of the world's most exhilarating high performance sports cars. This is a fantastic experience during which you will learn the techniques and necessary methods from an instructor before taking the V8 Vantage out on to the track! The Nissan GT-R can reach a top speed of 195 mph and it has been tested to achieve 0-60 mph times as low as 3.2 seconds. On standard Japanese market tires, the GT-R is currently one of the fastest production cars to lap the Nürburgring circuit, The GT-R currently holds a lap time of 1:19.7 around the Top Gear Test Track, which is the 8th fastest time (equal with the Ferrari F430 Scuderia). Several automotive journalists have compared the GT-R to the Bugatti Veyron.

Agenda

Once you have arrived and been welcomed to the centre your day will begin with a thorough safety briefing covering all aspects of the circuit, the Aston Martin and the Nissan that you are about to drive. Once briefed you'll be ready to begin the day's driving with a 3 lap demo with the instructor driving in the performance training car. Once the theory has been learnt, your day's driving will begin with 4 fantastic laps driving the beautiful Aston Martin AMV8 or DB9. After this great British supercar experience you'll have another 4 laps driving the Nissan GT-R. After all of this supercar driving you will be treated to a 2 lap hot hatch passenger ride with the instructor driving and showing you how the pros do it! This great track day will slow to a halt with the presentation of your personalised driving certificate.

Restrictions
You must have a full UK or European driving license with no serious offences. You must be able to drive a manual transmission. Drivers shorter than 5'0" or taller than 6'6" and/or weighing more than 17 stone may have difficulty being accommodated.

Duration
Please allow 1.5 hours at the venue.

What to Wear / Equipment
You should wear comfortable clothing with thin-soled shoes for driving. All safety equipment is provided by the centre

Group Size / Spectators
Spectators are welcome, although there is a strict 'No Pets Allowed' rule.

Weather
This experience will only be affected by extreme weather conditions; if in doubt please check with the centre before setting off.

Availability
Courses start at a range of times on selected Saturdays and weekdays throughout the year. Extra driving laps & passenger rides can be purchased on the day. Experience expires at end of 2009.
