Audi R8 v Porsche GT3 RS

Audi have always been one of the more desirable cars on the road with classic 4 wheel drives like the Quattro and starring roles in films such as Ronin. The new range of RS cars are causing quite a stir within the motor world and are becoming a must have for celebrities and sportsmen alike. The slick styling combined with the raw efficiency of the German engine have created a stunning car that must be driven to be appreciated. This is your chance to see what the craze is about and try it on for size - well you can always dream! The "RS" Moniker, and the characteristic blue or red wheels and "GT3 RS" side stickers link the GT3 RS to historically important Porsches such as the Carrera 2.7 RS of the early 1970s. Automobile magazines claim the GT3 RS can accelerate from 0-60 mph in about 4.3 seconds and has a top speed of around 190 mph, utilising the 996 GT3's 450bhp engine.

Agenda

Once you have arrived and been welcomed to the centre your day will begin with a thorough safety briefing covering all aspects of the track, the Audi R8 and the Porsche GT3 RS. Once you’ve briefed up it’s time to buckle up and get ready some driving development with your instructor during 3 laps in the performance training car. Now you’ll be ready for the drive of your life, beginning with 4 laps in the Audi R8. After this superb driving experience you will move into Porsche’s sublime GT3 RS for a further 4 laps. At Prestwold Hall you will receive a 2 lap passenger ride in a hot hatch with the instructor. Your day’s driving will be complete with the presentation of your personalised driving certificate.

Restrictions
You must have a full UK or European driving license with no serious offences. You must be able to drive a manual transmission. Drivers shorter than 5'0" or taller than 6'6" and/or weighing more than 17 stone may have difficulty being accommodated.

Duration
Your experience will last for around 1.5 hours.

What to Wear / Equipment
You should wear comfortable clothing with thin-soled shoes for driving. All safety equipment is provided by the centre

Group Size / Spectators
Spectators are welcome, although there is a strict 'No Pets Allowed' rule.

Weather
This experience will only be affected by extreme weather conditions; if in doubt please check with the centre before setting off.

Availability
Courses start at a range of times on selected Saturdays and weekdays throughout the year. Extra driving laps & passenger rides can be purchased on the day.
