This is a great product that combines two really popular experiences; 'Discover Outdoor Climbing' and 'Abseiling'. Outdoor Rock Climbing is a very rewarding activity; it is both physically and technically challenging and is also great fun. Discover Outdoor Rock Climbing is half-day course that is designed as an introduction to rock climbing with the emphasis on trying out the sport, having fun and learning basic climbing and bouldering techniques - ideal for someone thinking of taking up climbing or for having a go at this exciting and exhilarating sport. You will then travel the 20 minutes or so to the Abseiling site and what better way to beat your stress, than by feeding your fear as you lean back over the edge and shoot down the abseil tower! Learn the basics of abseiling, safe in the knowledge that you are attached to a safety rope. Once confident you can up the adrenaline and even try it blindfolded!
Experience Content
You will start your session by meeting your instructor at the climbing site. You will receive a safety briefing before being introduced to rock climbing and the basic skills that you will learn during the session. You will then take to the rock where you will learn and practice; knots & belaying, climbing technique, climbing etiquette, introduction to bouldering and safety awareness. You will then travel to the abseiling site where you will again receive a full safety briefing before being kitted up. You will have a quick theory session on abseiling techniques before going out and putting theory into practice! You will have multiple goes at abseiling down the face of the 30 foot tower each time building your confidence a little more; if you are feeling brave you can even try it blindfolded at the end of your session!

This experience will last 5 - 6 hours in total.
What to Wear / Equipment
All specialist equipment with be provided by the centre. You should wear trainers and unrestrictive clothing that is suitable for the weather conditions. Please bring a packed lunch and plenty of water as there are normally no shops near the crags.

Rock climbing can be affected by bad weather; if in doubt please call the centre before setting off.
Availability
This experience is available on selected dates from March to October.
Restrictions
Minimum age is 18.
You should have a reasonable level of fitness.
