Exmas Special - Zapcat Experience - Southampton

The Exmas Special for the aquatic addicts is here, and will undoubtedly satisfy all of your darling adrenalin junkies this Exmas! The ZapCat is Poseidon’s answer to the supercars of the road, with outstanding power and frightening acceleration at your fingertips. The lightweight, twin hulled inflatable boat will reach speeds of around 50mph, and in an astonishing 3 seconds! During this great ride you will be exposed to around 2-3 G’s in the sharp turns pulled by the expert instructor, and maybe yourself if you’re lucky! Originally designed as a surf rescue boat, the ZapCat has developed into the world’s most popular one design powerboat at championship level, and is now available for speed freaks across the nation to enjoy what the pros had been keeping to themselves!

Agenda

Once you have arrived and been welcomed to the centre your day will begin with a thorough safety briefing covering all aspects of the water and the immensely powerful ZapCat that you are soon to be controlling. After you’ve learnt the safety aspects, it’s time to hit the water with your instructor as the professional will demonstrate just how spectacular these machines are with an amazing display of speed and control. Here you can expect to be in the air about as much as you are on the water! If the weather allows and your instructor agrees, you’ll step up to the controls and have a go at taming this beast for yourself! This fantatstic experience is all about speed and adrenalin pumping excitement as you splash, smash and crash around at frightening speeds! As if getting to go out on this little beauty isn’t enough on its own, you’ll even get to ride the 225hp Rigid Inflatable Boat (RIB) when your fellow ZapCat’ers are having their turn! Excellent Exmas Entertainment!

Restrictions
Age Restrictions: Min age is 16. (Under 18's require parental consent ) You will not be able to take part if you have back or neck problems, are pregnant or have heart conditions. Non swimmers are accepted but you must inform centre at safety briefing
Additional restrictions in Southampton: Weight Restrictions: Max weight 21 Stone. Height Restrictions: Min height 4'10, Max height 6'6"

Duration
Your experience will last anything up to three hours, depending on the weather and number of other people doing the experience on your day (it is a popular one). You will have approx 20 - 30 minutes aboard the ZapCat which should successfully satisfy your need for speed!

What to Wear / Equipment
Wetsuits or dry-suits, buoyancy aids and helmets will be provided on the day. Be sure to bring a swim suit & towel and sun block if it's hot, with warm clothing to change into if it's not.

Group Size / Spectators
There will be a maximum of three people per ZapCat including the instructor in Brighton and 2 people including the instructor in Southampton. Spectators are welcome, as there are facilities close to the centres such as waterfront bars, cafes, restaurants etc. Guests should take a pair of binoculars if they want to follow the action.

Weather
Extreme weather conditions may cause the experience to be cancelled or 'toned down' - please call the centre if in doubt.

Availability
Vouchers are available to buy from Nov 1st - Dec 31st 2009. Vouchers MUST be redeemed and used before June 30th 2010. Experience is available at weekends, either in the morning or afternoon (depending on season).
