Orca Experience (White Water Rafting)

If you're feeling brave the Orca Adventure provides a unique opportunity to experience the thrill of white water rafting in a custom built Eurocraft Orca two-man inflatable raft.  This session gives you the chance to be in control of the raft and to negotiate the rapids yourself, but don't worry, there will be a qualified guide alongside in a kayak to help and offer you some expert advice. A great combination of rafting and canoeing principles to creat an enjoyable experience!

Agenda

Your experience starts with a briefing about safety and white water rafting techniques, then it's on with your safety gear and you're off. The Orca's can be piloted with either one or two people and you will have a qualified guide in a kayak alongside as you tackle the rapids in this great white water experience. Please arrive at the centre half an hour before your experience is due to start.

Restrictions
Minimum Age: 16
Weight Restrictions: 16 stone / Chest Size 60 (roughly)
Parental consent needed for under 18's.

All Participants must be confident in open water and be able to swim 25m with flotation device.
White Water Rafting is not suitable if you are pregnant.

Duration
You should allow between 3.5 and 4 hours for your experience.

What to Wear / Equipment
All specialist equipment such as wetsuit, buoyancy aid and helmet will be provided by the centre. You should take your swim suit & towel, a spare pair of trainers and warm clothing to change into afterwards.

Group Size / Spectators
This voucher entitles 1 person to participate in the orca experience, to share a raft with a friend please purchase two individual vouchers.
Each raft takes up to two people.
There is a cafe and other facilities for spectators.

Weather
Rafting operates in most conditions but may be affected by extreme weather conditions or flooding if the river is too swollen.

Availability
The Orca Experience (White Water rafting) is available from March or April through to October (Closed during November). These are the best months to operate in as the water temperature drops considerably.
