Skid Control Course

Now you can put your true driving skills to the test in a skid car with this great advanced driving lesson. On a purpose-built skid course you'll master driving techniques to control your vehicle in the event of a skid or slide, making this lesson not only superb fun but very useful for the safety of your driving! Whether you're driving for business or pleasure, Britain's inclement weather means you can never be sure what hazardous conditions are just around the corner. This uniquely enjoyable experience teaches you valuable driving skills in a risk-free environment and gives you the confidence that you need on the road, ensuring that you will leave the track a better and safer road user. This experience is ideal for all those adrenalin junkies who like to deal with hazards in their driving, allowing you to tone your skills on a purpose built skid pan area. Key skills will be gained from a qualified instructor about coping with dangerous conditions such as black ice as well as dealing with an aqua-planing car. This experience will help the driver deal with the pressures of unseen circumstances and boost their confidence in unsafe conditions. Let it prepare you for the worst...while having the time of your life!

Agenda

Once you have arrived and been welcomed to the centre your day will begin with a thorough safety briefing covering all of the circuit techniques and driving aspects of controlling the skid pan cars. You will then get behind the wheel for a 30 minute skid car session, which will include an in-car demonstration to test your abilities around the purpose built skid pan area and breaking lane. You may also spend further time in the cars as a passenger. Sat next to you in the passenger seat on your advanced lesson will be a qualified instructor offering professional advice in car control, such as over and under-steering situations. The day will come to a halt with a debrief and the presentation of your personalised skid pan control certificate.

Restrictions
Participants must be at least 17 years old. Drivers must hold a full Manual License – International licences which have been held for the correct amount of years and that are presented on the day will be accepted. Maximum Height 6ft 7in. Minimum Height 5ft 2in and under 70yrs old. Maximum Weight 18st at both locations.

Duration
Please arrive 20 minutes prior to your experience and allow approximately 2 hours for your Skid Control Course. You will have approximately 30 minutes drive time. The experience in Dunfermline will give the driver the opportunity to get behind the wheel of both front and rear wheel drive cars.

What to Wear / Equipment
You must wear long sleeved tops and trousers with soft soled shoes or trainers

Group Size / Spectators
Spectators are encouraged to attend this experience, bring a camera.

Availability
This experience is available on Weekends all year round.In Northamptonshire you will drive a Ford Focus. In Dunfermline you will drive the Seat Leon or Ford Fiesta.
