All aboard for a sailing lessons weekend in Pembrokeshire! Experience the rewarding nature of successfully manning the seas, as you and your crew of experienced seamen and fellow beginners embark on a weekend of Sailing lessons to give you an authentic introduction to the world of yacht sailing, and pit you in the cabin with an experienced sailing instructor. The RYA endorsed lesson combines an overnight stay on the boat, and a list of things to do that includes knot-tying, sail handling and making the dinner for a hungry crew! (or at least mucking in with a few cups of tea!)

Agenda

Once you have arrived and been welcomed to the centre the Sailing Lessons will begin with a meet 'n' greet for you and the crew, where you can discuss the weekend's antics, what you'd like to learn - and anything else to do with the weekend aboard the yacht. Once briefed and buoyed you'll hit the seas for your weekend of sailing, throwing you in at the deep end of learning the ropes - with lessons in knot tying, sail handling and general skills come thick and fast in real time. The RYA accredited experience also counts toward your Competent Crew Award.

Restrictions
Minimum Age: 16

Participants must be able to swim 50m and have a reasonable level of fitness.

Duration
The course is a minimum of two days, please check with the centre for exact times as these can vary slightly.

What to Wear / Equipment
Be prepared for changeable weather, with plenty of layers.

• Waterproofs
• Woolly H at & Gloves (for warmth and rope friction protection)
• Shades With a Retaining Strap
• Sun Cream
• Deck Boots & Non-Slip Deck Shoes / Trainers That Don’t Mark

Be aware that everything is capable of getting wet! Take a Sleeping Bag & Pillow and aTowel - showers will be available at any marina’s you pull in to and a basic toilet and washbasin will be on board. Food will be supplied on board, cooking duties will be shared. Bring spending money for any meals out and drinks. Limited space on board, bring one large bag only.

Group Size / Spectators
There will be a maximum of five students per instructor.

Weather
Sailing courses can be weather dependent and in extreme circumstances the course may be affected. Please check with the centre prior to arrival.
