White Water Rafting & Canyoning Day

White Water Rafting has enjoyed a meteoric rise to the top of many people’s ‘Must-Do’ list. The mix of fear, adrenalin and team work ethic has catapulted this great experience into the lives of many adrenaline junkies and fear-facing followers! In your 14foot inflatable boat and in groups of around 6, you’ll never forget the day you went White Water Rafting. To follow up the amazing rapids, you'll be off traversing cliff faces and zip lines with th experiences tour guide.

Agenda

Once you have arrived and been welcomed to the centre your day will begin with a thorough safety briefing covering the dangers and techniques involved with White Water Rafting and the Zip Line. Please arrive at the centre half an hour before your experience is due to start. During the rafting session you will get two runs down the river in one of our 14 foot inflatable rafts, with the session lasting just over an hour in total. Each run down the river lasts approximately 20 minutes, and the rafting course is around 2km in length. It is a steep, rocky course and the river is classed as a grade 3/4.

The Canyoning starts with a jump in to the plunge pool! You will then be making your way down the gorge, negotiating boulders and rock pools. After wading through the water your guide takes you to the top of a huge, steep water slide. You will eventually find yourself at the top of a 40 foot water fall which is nothing short of breathtaking! From the top of the waterfall you'll have to launch yourself off and down the “Flying Fox” (an aerial zip line) into the pool below. Splashdown!!

Participants must be able to swim 50m

Please bear in mind that the Rafting and Canyoning components to this experience are run by two of our centers about 20 minutes apart so you will need transport to get between them.

Duration
This is a full day experience.

What to Wear / Equipment
All specialist and safety equipment is included (i.e. wetsuits, buoyancy aids e.t.c.) Please remember to bring a towel, swimwear, a spare pair of trainers and a warm change of clothes.

Group Size / Spectators
Spectators are welcome - you will not be able to see all of the Canyoning although you will get an excellent view of the final splashdown!

This experience is available from December - October dependent on water levels for rafting.
