Windsurfing has gone through a revolution in the last 10 years with massive advances in kit design allowing its popularity to remain despite the best efforts of the new kid on the block, Kitesurfing. To watch pro freestyle windsurfers executing perfect stunts and throwing themselves (and their kit) in a 40 knot wind is a sight to behold and reminds everybody who the daddy of the surfing world is.
