Wing Surfing - One Day Intro Course -

Here at Extreme Element we pride ourselves on being at the cutting edge of extreme sports and we are very pleased to be able to offer you the opportunity to try Wing Surfing. Wing Surfing or Dirt Surfing as it is sometimes called has been developed by a bunch of guys Down Under. You basically take a Dirt Surfer which is a crazy two wheeled skate board type contraption, and a Kitewing which is a kind of hand held sail and hey presto! You now have the means to propel yourself across an array of surfaces at high speed. We knew you'd like it. This is really not like anything you have seen before and great fun, by the end of our one day intro course you will be scouring the internet to find out where you can buy the kit for yourself.
Experience Content
You will start your day with a short safety briefing before being familiarised with the equipment - Dirt Surfer, Kite Wing etc. Then it's time to have some fun! You will learn how to use the Dirt Surfer and practice with it, you will then be introduced to the Kitewing and taught the principles of how it works. Finally, it's a case of merging your Dirt Surfing and Kite Wing skills together to get your first runs going. A great day.

Duration
The course will last five to six hours over the course of a day.
What to Wear / Equipment
All equipment will be supplied - this includes kitewing, dirt surfer, helmet and pads. You should wear trainers and clothes that you don't mind getting muddy

Group Size / Spectators
Group sizes vary but will usually be 2 - 4 students per instructor. Spectators are welcome but please listen to the instructors as to where the safest place to stand and watch is.
Weather
Wing Surfing is weather dependent, you need wind! Please make sure you call the centre either the day before or on the actual day of your course to check that your lessons is going ahead.
Availability
Our centre is open from April - November. Courses take place most weekends and during the week.
Restrictions
The minimum age is 16
There are no specific requirements regarding maximum size but you will need to fit into a harness, please check with the centre when booking if you have concerns regarding this.
