The ZapCat is a very light weight, twin hulled inflatable boat with a large outboard engine - this little recipe adds up to a create a machine that reaches a top speed of approaching 50 mph in 3 secs (give or take a couple of fractions) and is exposed to 2-3 G in the turns.....Extreme Fun!! Originally designed as a surf rescue boat which has morphed into the worlds most popular one design powerboat championship and is now available to give speed freaks like you the ride of your life! Oh yeah, to top it all off, if the weather permits you will even get a go at driving the thing, how good is that?
Experience Content
Upon arrival at the centre you will be given a full safety briefing, it's then time to hit the water. Your instructor will demonstrate to you exactly what these crazy machines are capable of...expect to spend as much time in the air as on the water! Then, weather permitting and at the instructors discretion, it's your turn...open the engine and feel the power of The ZapCat. The support boat is a 225hp Rigid Inflatable Boat so when someone else is taking their turn on the main attraction you still get to power around on this little beauty. Bonus.
| What you Need to Know |
Duration
Your experience will last anything up to three hours, depending on the weather and number of other people doing the experience on your day (it is a popular one). You will have approx 20 - 30 minutes aboard the ZapCat which, trust me, is enough!
What to Wear / Equipment
Wetsuits or drysuits, buoyancy aids and helmets will be provided on the day. Be sure to bring a swim suit & towel and sun block if it's hot and warm clothing to change into if it's not.

Group Size / Spectators
There will be a maximum of three people per ZapCat including the instructor. Spectators are welcome, as there are facilities close to the centres such as waterfront bars, cafes, restaurants etc. Guests should take a pair of binoculars if they want to follow the action.
Weather
Extreme weather conditions may cause the experience to be cancelled or 'toned down' - please call the centre if in doubt.
Availability
Available on weekends throughout the summer (March to October) in Brighton & Glasgow. Available on weekends year round in Southampton.
Restrictions
Age Restrictions: Min age is 16. (Under 18's require parental consent )
You will not be able to take part if you have back or neck problems, are pregnant or have heart complaints
Non swimmers are accepted but you must inform centre at safety briefing
Additional restrictions in Glasgow and Southampton:
Weight Restrictions: Max weight 21 Stone
Height Restrictions: Min height 4'10, Max height 6'6"
