This Full Day Falconry experience allows you to get up close and handle some of the most amazing creatures in the bird species, whilst learning all about the different types and how to interact with each. Through guided tours and handling / flying sessions you will get up close and personal with a range consisting of: Owls, Vultures, Kestrels, Buzzards, Hawks, Falcons and Eagles! A fantastic day out for wildlife and animal lovers!

Agenda

Once you have arrived and been welcomed to the centre your Full Day Falconry will begin with an insight into the ancient art of falconry from your expert instructor for the day. Then, you will be off on a guided tour through the aviaries studying a spectacular array of birds such as Owls, Vultures, Kestrals, Buzzards, Hawks, Falcons and Eagles (Varies in each location).  In some locations, you will be taught how to tie a Falconers Knot and be able to have a bird of prey join you on your tour round - whilst it sits right next to you on your gauntlet! You will learn the way to handle these fantastic and powerful birds, ready for your move from handling to flying. You will be taught how to engage with the birds (several different types) and have them come to you as they soar. Your falconer will demonstrate and show you how to lure and work the birds in styles that have changed little in many years. In some locations, you will get the opportunity to have the hawks fly in a group and follow you through the fields. This experience includes lunch.

Under 18's must have an adult present.

Duration
This is a full day experience, lasting around 6 hours.

What to Wear / Equipment
You will need to dress comfortably and appropriately for the outdoors. Wellies are recommended.

There may be a charge for spectators in some locations, please enquire when you making the booking.
