Full Day Kayak and Canoe Experience

Enjoy a full day of Kayaking at the well placed purpose-built centre, which is perfect for scenery and decent water conditions. Sessions are tailored by the instructors to help complete beginners or those with some previous experience. On the session you will be learning some of the basic skills and principles through to some of the more difficult techniques, and even play some games to fine tune those new skills! Agenda

Following registration at the boat centre you will meet your instructor. They will then fit you with your equipment including buoyancy aid; cag (canoeing waterproof top) boat and paddle (spraydecks are available for experienced paddlers). The Kayaks and canoes are very stable and designed for tuition so you are unlikely to fall out unless you try hard! A full safety briefing and explanation in the use of the equipment is provided before going onto the water. The session will take place on a calm stretch of the River Leam. You will taught how to control the boat so you can enjoy a river trip up though the Victorian Gardens & into the nature reserve. You may well play some games to test your new skills! The Full Day group session will prove 2 sessions of 3 hours each; one Open Canoeing and one Kayaking.with a break for Lunch (food not included) This is ideal for people who want tot try their hand at both open canoeing and kayaking.

Restrictions
Minimum Age: 14
Reasonable fitness and competent in the water.
Life jackets are provided and must be worn.

Duration
Please allow 7 hours at the centre to complete your experience with approximately 6 hours tuition.

What to Wear / Equipment
Please wear basic sports clothing, which you don't mind getting damp or wet, wearing old trainers, sandals, or wet shoes. A towel and complete change of clothes and shoes are necessary.
If you wear glasses its a good idea to secure them with elastic.
All equipment is provided by the centre which is BCU approved training centre.

Group Size / Spectators
Spectators are very welcome, with a number refreshments available. A children's play area is near by so children are welcome.

Weather
This experience can be effected by extreme weather conditions, if in doubt please contact the centre.

Availability
This experience is available of selected weekend dates through out the year. For groups of 4 or more, dates are available on request.
