Hang Gliding experiences are a wonderful oxymoron of the activity world, as the tranquil peace of the sport is overwhelmed by the impending nature of being 3000ft in the air! With a trained instructor at the helm for the most part, you are free to take in the sites of the picturesque countryside below and enjoy the unique feeling of effortless flight. With an expert guide taking care of the controls, you can run your fingers through the air and almost feel the clouds as you embark on the most exciting of aerial adventures - basically flying through the skies in a sleeping bag!

Agenda

Once you have arrived and been welcomed to the centre your Tandem Hang Glide Experience will begin with an introduction to the grounds and equipment before listening in to a safety brief for the thrilling sky ride about to unfold. Then, once briefed and ready to take to the skies, you'll be jettisoned to a height somewhere around 3,000ft - where the picturesque views of below are unavoidable and quite splendid! Should the conditions allow it, you may even get chance to fly the magnificent Hang Glider yourself!

Minimum Age: 16 years old

Maximum Weight: 14.5 stone (90kg)

You must give details of any medical condition that may affect your ability. If you are in any doubt, please contact your GP for advice. The hang glider is equipped with its own undercarriage which eliminates the need for running on take off and landing and is therefore suitable for all age groups and people with disabilities.

Duration
You should allow one hour for the Hang Gliding Experience in Derbyshire, but expect to be in the air for around 30 minutes.

What to Wear / Equipment
Dress in layers and for the weather - It is recommended that you wear old clothes and a strong pair of boots / shoes with no hooks on them (essential). The safety equipment is supplied by the centre.

Group Size / Spectators
Friends and family are welcome to watch you take off and land on your Hang Gliding experience.

Weather
Tandem Hang Gliding is weather dependent - there has to be wind! Please call the centre on the day to ensure it is going ahead.
