Introduction To Windsurfing

Explore the world of windsurfing today with this fantastic taster session. Being both technically and physically challenging, windsurfing is a cross between two incredibly thrilling watersports, surfing and sailing! Discover the basic techniques with a land-based lesson before hitting the water to have a go. With a qualified instructor on hand to help master the essential skills and leave the two hour lesson with a full understanding of the equipment and being able to sail and steer the board across the water, dodging any obstacles in your way!

Agenda

Once you have arrived and been welcomed to the centre your experience will begin with a full safety briefing as you get kitted out in your wetsuits. Learn the basic principles with a dry-land simulator before taking the plunge and having a go in the water. Climb aboard and master the art of control as you steer yourself around the water, listen to the expert guidance throughout and improve your stability and understanding of how the boards work. Your experience will draw to a close with a de-brief back at the centre, including a discussion of the techniques learnt throughout your course.

Restrictions
Minimum Age: 9
Under 18's must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Please let the centre know if you are not confident within the water.
If you are extraordinarily tall or short, or feel that your physique may impair your enjoyment of this activity in any way, please check with the centre when booking.

Duration
This experience lasts approximately 2 hours.

What to Wear / Equipment
Please bring a swimsuit, towel, sun cream and a warm change of clothes to the centre.
All specialised equipment will be provided by the centre.

Group Size / Spectators
This experience is great for both individuals and groups alike.
Spectators welcome. Please Note: This is a mixed adult and junior course.

Weather
This experience can be affected by extreme weather conditions. If in doubt, please contact the centre on the day to make sure it is going ahead.

Availability
The experience is available on selected dates throughout the year, normally weekend availability.
