Take to the skies in a Microlight and experience the tranquil beauty of what's below - from way up there! For centuries man tried to realise the dream of achieving flight, and as fully fledged as we are in terms of celestial conquests - Leonardo Da Vinci's flying machine was a fantastic insight that has stood the test of time. The Microlight is obviously not exactly same as that future defying prototype, yet the resemblance is uncanny. Achieving speeds of up to 60mph at a height of 2,000ft - you and the instructor will be soaring through the skies with an unbridled view of the Derbyshire countryside below.

Agenda

Once you have arrived and been welcomed to the centre your Microlight trial flight in Derbyshire will begin with an introduction to the grounds, the aircraft and your instructor for this magnificent flying experience. Then, once briefed and ready to fly, you'll start with a full pre-flight check - and then it's out onto the runway for a good towing up to 2,000ft where you'll have an unavoidably spectacular view of the grounds below - in a lightweight and open flying machine! Run your fingers through the clouds as you and the instructor enjoy an experience that is right up there with the best of them! If the weather and conditions permit it, you may get chance to fly the Microlight yourself.

Minimum age: 14
Maximum Weight: 16 stone

Duration
Your Microlighting experience will last for around 1-1.5 hours, with around 20 minutes in the air.

What to Wear / Equipment
All Microlight and safety equipment is provided at the centre.

It is advisable to wear layers in the winter and the summer - as the temperature up in the skies can get a little chilly all year round.

Group Size / Spectators
Spectators are welcome and encouraged to take photos of your memorable Microlight Trial Flight in Derbyshire.

There is a 'no-pets' rule due to airfield regulations.

Weather
Microlighting in Derbyshire is a weather dependent experience, you must check with the centre before setting off to ensure your flight is going ahead.

Customers must call for a weather check on the morning of the flight, (between 9-9.30am), or the evening before (between 7pm and 9pm) whatever the forecast.

Availability
Microlight Trial Flights take place on most days (except Mondays & Wednesdays) from May to October.

Depending on the weather, you will be flying in a fixed wing or flexi wing Microlight.
