Microlighting is one of the most accessible ways to get airborne and enjoying a flying experience, as the fantastic flying machines are a simple means of lofting you to the skies - and in an open cock-pit too! This great Microlight experience in Sywell Aerodrome will have you soaring through the skies at 2,000ft, and at a speed close to 60mph as you and the instructor are on an unforgettable tour of the Northampton countryside, with the most incredible views of the area as far as the eye can see! With a number of previous world and country champions operating at the Northamptonshire centre, you're in good hands - and will be off on an unforgettable flying tour.

Agenda

Once you have arrived and been welcomed to the Microlighting centre at Sywell Aerodrome, your Microlight experience will begin with a technique and safety brief covering the flying general skills and general protocols. Depending on availability, the time of year and the weather conditions - your Microlight will take place in a fixed wing or flexi wing aircraft. Once you and the instructor have run through the preflight checks and are ready to hit the skies, you'll take to the picturesque runway of Sywell Airfield and begin your ascent to 2,000ft - reaching speeds of up to 60mph! Once up there you'll be free to enjoy around 20-30 minutes of unbridled Northampton countryside, from the most advantageous of positions! Depending on the weather conditions, the instructor may let you take the controls and soar with the birds! Once landed back down on solid ground, you'll run through a few post flight checks and be presented with your personalised driving certificate.

Duration
The Microlight Trial Flight in Northampton will last for around 20-30 minutes, but you could expect to be at the centre for longer.

What to Wear / Equipment
You should wear comfortable casual clothes that you don't mind getting a little dirty.

All safety equipment is provided by the centre.

Group Size / Spectators
Friends and family are welcome to watch your Microlighting experience from a designated viewing area.

There is however a 'no pets' rule in operation at the airfields.

Weather
Microlighting is massively weather dependent. Please call the centre on the day to ensure it is going ahead.

Customers must call us for a weather check on the morning of their flight, (between 9-9.30am), or the evening before (between 7pm and 9pm) whatever the forecast.

Availability
Microlighting in Swindon takes place mainly on weekdays from February to November.
