Experience flying in a microlight on this magnificent flying day, where you'll get your hands on - and potentially fly a Microlight for yourself! Soaring the skies at 2,000ft somewhere near 60mph is an exciting experience to say the least, and with this great Swindon based session you can get the best view in the entire city - in the open cockpit of the flying vehicle! Operating out of Redlands Airfield on the border of Swindon and Wiltshere, the well drained grass runways consist of 750m, 407m and 274m straights - perfect for this unique microlight school which operates solo at the picturesque countryside airfield.

Agenda

Once you have arrived and been welcomed to the centre your Microlighting experience in Swindon will begin with a preflight briefing, covering the aircraft, the grounds and the essential safety protocols. Then, once briefed and ready - it's time for one last equipment check before making your way to the runway, where you'll hit the skies for a fantastic flying experience with the most spectacular of unavoidable views! You'll be shown the techniques throughout the experience, and you may even get chance to take the controls yourself. Depending on the weather or conditions at the centre, you will be flying either a fixed wing or a flexi wing Microlight.

Maximum Weight: 15-16.5 stone (location dependent)

Duration
Microlighting in Swindon will last for around 2 hours, with around 20-30 minutes of flying the Microlight.

What to Wear / Equipment
You should wear comfortable casual clothes that you don't mind getting a little dirty.

All safety equipment is provided by the centre.

Group Size / Spectators
Friends and family are welcome to watch your Microlighting experience from a designated viewing area.

There is however a 'no pets' rule in operation at the airfields.

Weather
Microlighting is massively weather dependent. Please call the centre on the day to ensure it is going ahead.

Customers must call us for a weather check on the morning of their flight, (between 9-9.30am), or the evening before (between 7pm and 9pm) whatever the forecast.

Availability
Microlighting in Swindon takes place mainly on weekdays from February to November.
