Powerboat Experience Essex

Driving a powerboat is an experience not to be missed and this great introductory session led by RYA professionals is a great opportunity to get to grips with controlling these high speed boats. The RYA level 2 course taught during this experience will cover a variety of manoeuvres and procedures - including slow and high speed handling and picking up a man over board. You will spend 45 minutes on the water on board the 90hp R.I.B power boat in waters off the Wat Tyler Country Park.

Agenda

Once you have arrived and been welcomed to the centre the experience will begin with a short safety brief covering aspects of boat safety and an outline of what you will be learning. You will then head out to the 90hp Humber Assault R.I.B with the other participants to begin the session on water. Throughout the experience you will learn a series of skills including high and low speed handling, as well as practicing the man over board procedure.

Restrictions
Minimum Age: 16

Duration
The experience will last for around an hour with a minimum of 4 minutes on the water.

What to Wear / Equipment
Please wear clothing suitable for the time of year. Additional warm clothing will be provided in colder months.

Group Size / Spectators
Spectators are welcome to wave you off from the jetty, but their viewing will be limited.

Weather
This experience is effected by wind and rain. Please call the centre to check before leaving if in any doubt.

Availability
Powerboat Experience Essex is available 7 days a week throughout the year. Two weeks notice is required for booking.
