Silverstone Rookie - Junior Drive

Learn the basics of driving at the hands of Silverstone's qualified instructors and soak up all of the knowledge from a young age! Equip yourselves with the techniques and skills to make the driving test that much easier! Sat behind the wheel of the sporty Renault Clio 200 Cup, you will get some hands on driving experience in a nippy and responsive car. The Silverstone Rookie is not only educational, but fantastic fun and a memorable experience to ease the frustration of not being old enough for the road!

Agenda

Once you have arrived and been welcomed to the centre you will begin the driving experience with a brief that will cover the circuit driving techniques, the car itself and safety. With 3 students in the car with the instructor, you will be learning from the others before it is your turn to drive. You will have around 25 minutes actually behind the wheel with your instructor sat next to you providing hints, tips and the inside knowledge! You will then have a debrief and discover how well you did - Pass or Fail!?

Restrictions
Minimum Age:: 13
Maximum Age: 17
Minimum Height:: 4'10"
Maximum Height:: 6'3"
Maximum Weight:: 18 stone

Participants under 16 must be accompanied by an adult whilst on site.

Duration
Expect to be at the centre for around 2 hours.
Students will be in the car throughout, and will have around 25 minutes each behind the wheel.

What to Wear / Equipment
You should wear comfortable clothes and trainers. All safety equipment is supplied by the centre on the day.

Group Size / Spectators
1 instructor per 3 participants.
Spectators are welcome to come and watch, however if the date co-insides with a major event - only one car pass will be issued for entry in to the circuit.

Extreme conditions may cause your experience to be rearranged. Please call the automated phoneline of the centre on the day.

Availability
The Rookie Junior Drive usually runs twice per month, at the weekends.
