Silverstone Rookie Ride

The old saying goes; 'You can't run before you can walk' and the Rookie Ride experience is a classic example of this wisdom! Using the knowledge, patience and fantastic grounds of Silverstone, you'll be learning the basics and so much more of the magnificent world of motorbiking - giving you a solid footing and prepping you for the bigger more powerful bikes out there. With a range of challenges designed to build your confidence before finishing on an 'advanced course', you'll spend around 1.5hours mastering the basic skills ready for many a year riding bikes!

Agenda

Once you have arrived and been welcomed to the centre you will start the day with a safety briefing from a Silverstone Instructor. Once briefed, you'll be ready to begin the practical session, which will last for around an hour, during which you'll be introduced to the controls of the bike and learn how to get the scooter rolling and stopping safely. You will then practice controlling the scooter at low speeds, riding around a simple course. When you are ready you will gradually build up speed and try a more advanced course lay out. By the end of the day you will hopefully be ready to progress on to one of the more advanced courses!

Maximum Weight:: 18 stone

Participants under 16 must be accompanied by an adult whilst on site.

Duration
The experience will last for around 1.5hours, on a 1:2 Instructor to Student ratio.

What to Wear / Equipment
You should wear clothing that covers your arms and legs, and flat soled shoes. All safety equipment is supplied by the centre on the day.

Group Size / Spectators
Spectators are welcome to come and watch, however if the date co-insides with a major event - only one car pass will be issued for entry in to the circuit.

Extreme weather conditions may affect whether you can drive on the day, in which case a more suitable date will be arranged with the centre.
