Web Manager / Designer

Company: Extreme Element Ltd
Position: Web Manager / Designer (Full Time, In House)
Salary: £16K- £20K

About You

We are seeking a budding, enthusiastic, web manager / designer to manage and help expand our network of gift experience & experience booking websites. The chosen candidate will have an excellent knowledge of Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator, a keen eye for design, a basic understanding of PHP & MYSQL plus a very good all round IT knowledge. They will have had some experience of online marketing (SEO & PPC), experience in running e-commerce websites and in managing online communities.

Working alongside our marketing and web dev teams they will be in charge of running all aspects of the network of sites and ensuring that the sites are maxmised to their full potential in regard to layout & design, SEO, content and revenue streams. They will also be involved in offline design projects, the creation of promotional material and general company IT issues.

Tasks include (but not exclusively limited to)

• Basic site up dates to copy, images and web layout
• Creation of new site sections and pages
• Designing e-newsletters and organising regular mailshots
• Project managing freelance web developers and graphic designers
• Design of offline marketing and promotional materials (brochures, flyers etc)
• Basic queries on MYSQL databases using Access/PHP MyAdmin
• Creation of micro sites for specific sub sections of our product range
• Basic server / hosting / domain name issues
• Monitoring site statistics and implementing changes and improvements accordingly
• Competitor analysis
• Managing & maintenance of existing in-house affiliate marketing channels & tools (white label booking engines etc)
• Control & management of all site domains, email accounts and hosting
• General office IT support (software, hardware and network issues)
• Ensuring that we are utilising the latest technologies at all times and on all aspects of the site and business.

Essential Experience Required

• Competence in Dreamweaver
• Basic knowledge of Photoshop
• Graphic design experience
• Access / MYSQL basic knowledge

Experience & skills Preferred

• Basic knowledge of PHP & MYSQL
• Interest in extreme sports & adventure holidays
• Previous website management experience
• Illustrator / Flash / In Design experience

Sales / Marketing Assistant Placements

We are currently looking for 2 students for a full time, 1 year placement, starting in June/July 2009. Suitable students are usually on a "sandwich year" between Year 2 and Year 3 on a Marketing Degree or similar with a keen interest in Extreme Sports.

Field: Research & development, online and offline marketing, sales support, admin
Length of Placement: 1 year

About the Job

We require a computer literate, intelligent individual who has a high level of both spoken and written English to help the team at Extreme Element. Ideally a current student studying marketing, the chosen candidate will be involved in all aspects of the daily running of a busy extreme sports agency. Playing a key role within the sales, marketing and product development teams.

A knowledge and interest of extreme sports and Internet marketing would be an advantage but not required. Our company is a small but rapidly expanding start up company based in the centre of Brighton part of the world famous Extreme Brand. This is an excellent opportunity for someone to learn about running and marketing a busy internet site whilst learning some key internet design and development skills. This is a chance for the right candidate to shine in a role which will teach you essential real world skills marketing a product that you truly believe in. You will also get the chance to join the team on regular trips to “review” our products. So far this year we have been powerboating, mountain boarding, quad biking, bungee jumping and lots more.
