Zapcat Experience Plus

The Zapcat is a very light weight, twin hulled inflatable powerboat with a large outboard engine - this little recipe adds up to a create a machine that reaches a top speed of approaching 50 mph pulling up to 2-3 G in the turns.....Extreme Fun!! This experience is aimed at those of you who want to learn more about driving a Zapcat. You will get the chance to drive with the 2008 National Zapcat champions who will teach you how to race and corner in these powerful machines on a one-to-one basis.

Agenda

On arrival you will receive a full safety briefing. More information about the Zapcat and the experience your about to undertake. After this briefing it is then time to hit the water beginning your one-to-one session. You will be taken out on a RIB before joining the Zapcat to begin your one-on-one session. Throughout the session you will be guided by one of the 2008 National champions. This enables you to learn new skills from the best, including how to corner efficiently and how to control the boat whilst racing around the marks at top speeds. After your driving session you will return back to the yard for a debrief.

Restrictions
Age Restrictions: Min age is 16. (Under 18's require parental consent ) You will not be able to take part if you have back or neck problems, are pregnant or have heart complaints. Non swimmers are accepted but you must inform centre at safety briefing
Additional restrictions in Southampton: Weight Restrictions: Max weight 21 Stone. Height Restrictions: Min height 4'10, Max height 6'6"

Duration
Up to 2 hours on the water and up to an hour of shore based instruction.

What to Wear / Equipment
Drysuits, buoyancy aids and helmets will be provided on the day. Bring warm clothing and maybe a towel, sun block if it's hot with a spare pair of shorts with a T-shirt.

Group Size / Spectators
This experience is on a one-to-one basis and is likely to involve two participants, two boats and two instructors.

Weather
Extreme weather conditions may cause the experience to be postponed or even cancelled or 'toned down' - please call the centre if in doubt.

Availability
Weekends except for race dates and subject to running the race version of the experience in pairs.
