Now you can put your driving skills to the test in a skid car, under difficult conditions with expert guidance. On a purpose-built skid pan track you'll master driving techniques to control your vehicle in the scary moment your car begins to skid. You''ll learn what it feels like to hit black ice at 40mph and learn how to avoid a crash. This is a very enjoyable experience that will definitely increase your driving skills, and hopefully equip you with skills that could one day prove very useful if you skid on our country's unpredictable road surfaces! Key skills will be gathered and gained from a qualified instructor, including coping with dangerous conditions such as black ice and dealing with an aquaplaning car! A great experience for petrol heads and those with a taste for a challenge!

Agenda

Once you have both arrived and been welcomed to the centre your day will begin with a thorough safety briefing covering all aspects of the course, the risks of this type of driving and the skid pan cars that you and your lucky accomplice are about to drive. Then, to begin the day's driving you will have a one-to-one skid car session with the instructor testing your abilities and providing in-car demonstrations. This 90 minute session will be on the purpose built skid pan area and on the braking lane. A qualified instructor will accompany you in the car, ensuring you receive first class instruction throughout; with regard to your oversteer, understeer and hazard avoidance abilities!

Restrictions
Minimum Age: 17

All participants must hold a Full Driving Licence and are required to sign a declaration of health on arrival.

Duration
This experience will last for approx 90 minutes, operating on a one-to-one basis.

What to Wear / Equipment
Comfortable clothing and footwear with good grip is recommended. All other necessary equipment is provided.

Group Size / Spectators
Spectators are welcome but there are no hospitable facilities at the skid pan area.

Weather
Although the experience takes place in most conditions, please be aware that the most extreme of weather conditions may cause it to be rescheduled. Please phone the centre on the day to ensure it is going ahead.
