30min Two Seater Helicopter Lesson

The Robinson R22 is a two-bladed, single engine helicopter fitted with two seats. Designed in 1973 by Frank Robinson, the lightweight helicopter is commonly used to patrol ranches in North America and Australia, as the relatively low running costs and obvious aerial advantage provided by the £150,000 helicopter are perfect for livestock control. The R22 is a special aircraft for many reasons, including the ‘T-Bar’ control mounted between the pilot’s knees, which provides many safety and landing benefits. Standing at just shy of 3m tall and weighing under 400kg, the R22 has a cruise speed of 99mph and a ‘never exceed speed’ of 117mph. This 30 minute lesson is ideal for those with a desire to see the world from a different view, or for those who dream of one day owning one of these fantastically futuristic flying machines!

Agenda

Once you have arrived and been welcomed to the centre your day will begin with a 30min safety briefing covering all aspects of the helicopter controls and how the helicopter actually flies. You will then embark on a 30 min lesson with the expert instructor providing constant tuition throughout your flight, advising on the controls and getting the best out of the Robinson R22. This 30 minute lesson will count as the first stage of your Private Pilot’s lesson. Once safely landed, you will be presented with a signed flight certificate to commemorate this fantastic experience and to keep as part one of your helicopter flying career!

Duration
You can expect to be at the centre for around 1.5 hours, actual flying time will be 30mins.

What to Wear / Equipment
Please dress comfortably in layers such as T-Shirt, Jumper & Jacket (to remove if uncomfortable up there). Wear Trainers and definitely don't forget your sunglasses!

Group Size / Spectators
Spectators are welcome and are encouraged to take photos.

Availability
Flying lessons are available 7 days a week, all year round (Closed Christmas Eve, Christmas Day & Boxing Day).
No Sunday flights at the Stafford location.
