Last Wednesday 28th March, we were lucky enough to be invited on-board the launch event of the latest Bateaux London boat cruise. The Glass Room is an innovative new addition to the cruise company’s array of contemporary dining experiences along the river Thames, and grants spectators a panoramic view of London's top landmarks and sights.

Upon arrival, we were welcomed by two friendly members of staff. We were then shown around the newly refurbished waiting room, with floor to ceiling surrounding windows, stylish and modern décor, and comfortable looking sofas.

Next, we were led through the entrance to the Glass Room. There we were greeted by smiling waiters and professional bartenders, eager to offer us a selection of the finest cocktails and wines Bateaux has to offer from the spectacular (and fully stocked) on-board bar. My personal favourite was the espresso martini!

The boat is fitted with tasteful looking tables and chairs throughout, as well as sophisticated sofa seats ideal for lounging in style. The boat is intimate yet spacious, with its own grand piano for entertainment whilst you dine!

During our wait for the boat to set sail, we were able to sit back and watch the hustle and bustle of the city commute die down, as the sun set, and the picturesque lights of London came to life. We spent our leisurely sail along the Thames enjoying complimentary drinks and extravagant canapes, which were served to us by the efficient on-board waitstaff.

Surrounded by crystal clear glass windows, The Glass Room allows you to immerse yourself in the city. The greenhouse style design means that even the roof becomes a viewing mechanism for the towering skyscrapers of London! Some exciting highlights included The London Eye, Big Ben, The Tower of London, The Globe Theatre and The Shard – plus many more!

This short launch party was a luxurious affair that we were extremely grateful to be a part of. It gave us an insight into how Bateaux conduct their cruises and treat their guests with warm hospitality and extreme professionalism.

I would recommend this experience to anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion with an air of elegance and that little something extra.

We currently sell Lunch, Dinner and Afternoon Tea cruises that include fine dining meals alongside the stunning views of London. There’s even a Sunday Lunch Jazz Cruise that we can’t wait to try! All these experiences are available in the new Bateaux Glass Room.
