This helicopter flight is like no other! As you soar over one of England’s stunning National Parks, you will discover the Dambusters famous training regimes! The Lancaster bomber squadron 617 was formed in World War II. They used Lady Bower Reservoir and Derwent Valley as a training ground before taking part in a daring mission to bomb Germany’s dams! This excellent flight is great for both the historian enthusiast and for those simply wanting to enjoy the outstanding scenery!

Agenda

Once you have arrived and been welcomed to the centre you will receive a safety briefing about your flight. Next sit back and enjoy the ride. You will learn about the World War II Dambusters whilst taking in the beautiful views of the Peak District! Fly over Chatsworth House, the Mam Tor rock formations, Lady Bower Reservoir and through Derwent Valley before landing, with hopefully some fantastic photos!

Restrictions
Minimum Age: 6 years (children must have their own seat upon the helicopter)
Maximum Weight: 18 stone (please contact us if you are over 15 stone)

Duration
Your flight will last approximately 30 minutes, however please allow time for safety briefings.

What to Wear / Equipment
Please wear warm clothes and soft soled shoes.

Group Size / Spectators
This experience is great for both individuals and groups alike.
Spectators are welcome to come along and take photographs from the ground.

Weather
This experience may be affected by the weather so we advise guests to contact the centre before setting off.

Availability
Flights are normally scheduled once a month on a weekend, from March to November.
