A fantastic day at the UK's premier climbing facility! Indoor rock climbing is a great sport that challenges both mind and body and in the morning you will receive expert instruction before putting your new skills to the test on the country's tallest climbing wall. In the afternoon you will enjoy three full hours of ice climbing, you will be using ice axes and crampons as you get to grips with the world's biggest indoor ice wall where there is an ice cave, ice pillar, nerve wall and fall-out gully for you to scale and explore. A truly memorable day!
Experience Content
You will arrive at the centre and receive a full safety briefing from the qualified instructors. You will then be taught some basic climbing skills before heading to the rock wall - the biggest in the UK, your session on the rock wall will last for 1.5 hours and you will be encouraged to push yourself as much as you like. There will then be a break for lunch, there is a cafeteria and bistro on site where you can purchase home cooked style food. Next up is 2.5 hours on the world's biggest indoor ice wall. You will be using ice axes and crampons as you tackle the ice and frozen snow during a brilliant afternoon, a top-roped belay system and qualified instructors ensure your safety. At the end of the day you will receive a photo and certificate to remind you of your day.
| What you Need to Know |
Duration
You should expect to be at the centre for around six hours in total. The indoor rock climbing session will last 1.5 hours and the indoor ice climbing session will last 2.5 hours.
What to Wear / Equipment
All equipment will be provided by the centre. Dress up warm, layers are best so that you can remove some if you get hot. Take waterproofs if you own them. Take clothes to change into when your experience has finished.

Age Restrictions: Min age is 14. (Must be at least a size 4 shoe size)
You do need to have a reasonable level of fitness to do this experience.
