Extended Gliding Experience

Enjoy the picturesque views and tranquil beauty of our country whilst relaxing at 3000 feet! Once you've been towed tp 3000 feet you are free to take in the views and marvel at the aerial views provided with this amazing flying experience as you gently float back to Earth. With the instructor in the air with you it's up to you whether to take the controls yourself or just sit back and enjoy the ride!

Agenda

Once you have arrived and been welcomed to the centre your gliding experience will begin with the necessary paperwork, covering the declaration of flight. Then, once the paperwork is complete you will meet the instructor and have a short safety briefing before getting ready for the main event! Once at the launch point you'll meet the launch marshall who is responsible for ensuring you get airborne. Once you've made it into the air and reached 3000 feet you are free to enjoy the amazing views and can expect to float back down in around 40mins. The instructor will encourage you to take the controls yourself, but only if you feel comfortable. It is up to you whether to control the Glider or just enjoy being chauffeur driven by the qualified instructor.

Restrictions
Minimum Age: 14 Years Old
Maximum Weight: 104kg, (230lbs, 16.3 stone)
Maximum Height: 190cm (6'3") - Any height above this is difficult, please enquire if you are unsure.
You will need to seek medical advice if you suffer from any conditions such as epilepsy.
If you satisfy the requirements for a driving license then you are generally OK to glide.

Duration
Expect to be at the centre for around 2 hours, with around 40mins of gliding time once in the air.

What to Wear / Equipment
Comfortable casual clothes are fine. All equipment is provided by the centre.

Group Size / Spectators
Spectators are welcome to watch you depart on your flight.

Weather
Rain, high winds or poor visibility restricts gliding. You should call the centre on the day before setting off.

Availability
Gliding is available at weekends and on some weekdays from April to September.
