Treat yourself and a loved one to a fantastic day out learning the art of sailing! With a qualified instructor on hand to help, explore the lake and discover the basic principles of sailing as you take control of the 24 foot boat. Expect to leave this incredible course with a full understanding of the boat, mast and equipment, a basic level of the sports terminology and the ability to helm and rig a sailing boat under supervision. This experience is perfect for those with a desire to learn.

Agenda

Once you have arrived and been welcomed to the centre your experience will begin with a full safety briefing as you get kitted out in the necessary gear. Listen to the qualified instructor as they run through the basic skills and techniques to controlling the 24ft boat before swapping roles and letting you have a go. Put the theory to practice with plenty of hands-on experience before taking a step back and relaxing whilst the other participants take their turns.

Minimum Age: 8
Maximum Weight: 20 Stone

Under 18s must be accompanied by a participating adult. If you are extraordinarily tall or short, or feel that your physique may impair your enjoyment of this activity in any way, please check with the centre when booking.

Duration
This experience lasts approximately 3 hours, usually beginning at 9.30am or 1.30pm.

What to Wear / Equipment
Please take warm, comfortable clothing, non-slip marking shoes (eg deck shoes), shower proof jacket and gloves.
Please Note: There is plenty of room to store extra clothing within the boat.

Group Size / Spectators
This experience entitles two people to enjoy the sailing course.
Please Note: There will be up to 4 other participants on the experience.

This experience can be affected by extreme weather conditions. If in doubt, please contact the centre on the day to make sure it is going ahead.
