Bird Of Prey Experience Days: Take part in this incredible 1-hour private hawk walk through picturesque woodland, with your trusty feathered friend flying up above you! This experience is an unforgettable meeting of bird and man, overseen by a professional and experienced instructor. Meet your hawk, feed them, and take a walk through the woods with them by your side.
Your hawk walk experience will begin when you meet your guide at their idyllic centre in rural Gateshead. Take a moment to absorb the views, then it’s time for your introduction. Your qualified and experienced instructor for the day will give you a brief run-down of what to expect from your experience. Next, you’ll meet your hawk for the day. Harris Hawks are beautiful and dignified birds of prey originating from Southwestern U.S., Chile, Argentina and Brazil, and they're well known for their sociable nature which makes them the ideal walking partner for this falconry experience! You’ll walk through the beautiful woodland with the hawk flying through the trees above you, diving down onto your gloved hand for food as you offer it to them. The hawk will amaze you with their forthcoming nature, and you'll amaze yourself as you form a friendship with your new feathered companion.
This experience is the ideal gift for any birds of prey enthusiast, and would make for an unforgettable and picturesque day out in the woods.
When can you book Newcastle Hawk Walk Experience
This hawk experience is available year-round excluding Christmas and Boxing day, subject to demand and availability.
The centre's opening hours are 09:30 - 16:30 daily.
Days Out Requirements
The minimum age for this falconry experience is 5 years old.
Children must be accompanied by an adult. Adults can just spectate and do not need to take part in the experience unless they want to!
You will need to be able to walk over rough and uneven ground to take part in this Newcastle hawk walk.
We regret this walk is not wheelchair accessible.
