The age old aerial activity of Microlighting draws upon Leonardo da Vinci's magnificent designs of his pioneering flying machine, only throwing in an engine and some slightly altered physicalities...The fantastically enjoyable flying experience is a truly remarkable way to get an unbridled and totally unbeatable view of The Garden of England - as Kent's lush countryside provides some quite stunning of visuals for you to marvel at when 2,000ft up in the air! Soaring the skies at speeds of up to 70mph, you and the instructor will be on a natural 'high' as you fly through the clouds - culminating in your own go at the controls if the weather and instructor permit it!

Agenda

Once you have arrived and been welcomed to Stoke Airfield, your Microlighting experience will begin with a technique and safety brief - covering the essential flying protocols and skills required to take the Microlight to altogether new heights! Once briefed and ready to fly, you'll be ready to get out on the runway and get yourself up in the air, reaching speeds of up to 70mph at the gloriously exposed height of 2,000ft! With a patchwork carpet of stunning views directly beneath you, you won't be able to avoid the jaw dropping visuals provided by The Garden of England - and if the weather / instructor permit it, you may be able to take the controls yourself! Once the 30minute flight is over, you'll be back down on terra firma - enjoying a post flight aircraft check and the presentation of your personalised flying certificate.

Duration
Microlighting Trial Flights in Kent will last around 2 hours, with around 20-30minutes in the air actually flying the light aircraft.

What to Wear / Equipment
All safety equipment is provided by the Kent based Stoke Airfield, but it is advised you wear some rough clothes that you don't mind getting a little scruffy.

It is also advised that you wear layers suitable for the season, so wrap up warm in the winter and bring your sunglasses in the summer!

Group Size / Spectators
Family and friends are more than welcome to watch your memorable Microlight flight from the picturesque garden of England location, and are encouraged to bring cameras so they can snap soaring the skies!

As with most airfields, there is a strict no pets allowed rule - and any under 18s must be accompanied by a non-participating adult.

Weather
Microlighting in Kent is the same as everywhere else in that it is very dependent upon the weather.

Customers should call the centre for a weather check on the morning of their flight, (between 9-9.30am), or the evening before (between 7pm and 9pm) whatever the forecast.

Availability
Microlighting in Kent's Stoke Airfield is available on selected weekdays and weekends from February through November.
